Secretary of state asks Xype for advice
The opening of our new offices close to one of our largest customers, Airbus, attracted the attention of The Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, John Hutton.
Part of a regional consultation on the Governments enterprise policy, the visit on Thursday (27th September) coincided with our expansion of operations into our new facility just outside the gates of Airbus in Filton.
Speaking from the new offices, Pete Lewis (Xype MD) said: "This is a very exciting time for Xype. Having a high profile office right outside one of our major customers allows us to provide top quality, efficient and convenient service but with the flexibility of our own office space - fitting perfectly with the Airbus business model."
He continued: "The visit from John Hutton is confirmation that Xype is making it’s mark in the engineering IT industry. He asked some very interesting and relevant questions about our business and we were only too happy to offer advice on government SME policy"
Commenting on British Airways announcement of an order for twelve A380 aircraft from Airbus, John Hutton said:
"The announcement is a real vote of confidence in UK manufacturing and the skills and innovation being demonstrated by Airbus and Rolls Royce. It is a major boost the 13,000 employees at Broughton and Filton as well as SMEs in the supply chain, such as Xype.
